A Clean Room (A Rare Thing)

Home Tour: First Room

Today, since you (my dear bloggy friends) and I are still getting to know one another, I thought I would give you a visit into my home. For starters, I chose to post pictures of our Living Room. Shannon did this on Wednesday and I often read posts from The Nester and Emily that give me glimpses of their beautiful living rooms as well. I guess I am a little nosy. I love looking at people's houses. Little Ann inherited that lovely trait. We can't go anywhere that she doesn't want to go in and "check things out".

Now, my decorating skills are quite different than those above....actually, I don't even have any decorating skills. Which is why I am posting the living room. It is the only room in the house, I have actually had "knowledgeable" help on. Like Shannon, I have been contemplating what kind of treatment to do on my windows...but I like the fluted trim, so I have been undecided. I think I need an area rug because of the big open space in the middle of the floor...and what I would do for a new couch. Oh, I didn't realize my pictures on the wall were crooked until I proofed this post! Please feel free to offer any suggestions.

So why today's post?....well, actually girls.....yesterday, I discovered in my living room NO stray DVD's - not in their cases...NO piles of laundry that have been ignored for days... and NO naked Barbie's lying around (oh, the list could go on). It actually looked presentable, so I ran got my camera and took pictures as quickly as I could. As for now, my dryer is beeping and laundry is awaiting it's place in my floor!

I think it is beautiful just the way it is! An area rug might be pretty, but certainly not necessary. I love the color scheme!

Hello there! I love all the lamp light in this room...I'm such a sucker for lamps. And the wall color looks very much like mine :) What a cozy, CLEAN room! Well done Scrapper Mom. And thanks for the link. It is encouraging when others think I have a clue in the decor department because as of late, I have been feeling somewhat inadequate. But blogging is a great way to get suggestions...and encouragement. I look forward to seeing more rooms.

Your Living Room looks beautiful as is, very warm and comfortable... You have been a busy little blogger. I did try mid-week to visit you and each time the 'weblocked' page came up - did it with a few others as well. But then there is also the excuse of a sick little two year old... as I type, his old self is coming back and he's now no longer permanently attached to me. He was a sick little fello. I'd actually had him in his own bed two nights ago and had written a rather lengthy comment on your previous post, when he hurled and I went running. In the meantime, the husband who cannot be up the same end of the house with a hurling child, let alone the same room to help, decided he had to retrieve some work stuff on the computer before I could get back to it, and so when I did everything was gone and I just had to fall into bed... Your blog looks great!

Just had to say - and I hope you don't mind, but - I had a good laugh over your barf/hurl story. You were obviously not injured - thank God! Yes, sometimes it is better that they, our beloveds(!!!) aren't around during those times...

I think your living room is beautiful!! I would not say that you don't have any decorating skills. It is all so pulled together and great! I love your built-ins! I wish I could have enlarged the pictures because I love to see just how everyone "puts" things. :) Thanks so much for the link! You are too kind. I think and area rug would look great. Maybe a coffee table? I like the open look it has right now though. I think either way it is great! Now show us your other rooms! :)
