We had plans for this evening. I went out to admire my beautiful crepe myrtle blossoms around the same time the afternoon brought a small summer thunder shower. I was beginning to wonder if our plans would come to pass, but they did. Every year a couple from our church hosts a friendly get-together and firework display. We always have such sweet fellowship with one another...the kids swimming, eating our Southern foods and best of all, watching the sky light up in the cool night air (and I got to meet Big Dan's new female friend for the first time tonight). Hope you had a safe and happy 4th!

Oh, and it took me hours to figure out this slide show thingy, but it finally came together. Anybody have any suggestions for something different than Smilebox?

Glad to see you got some great 4th of July pictures. Mine were horrible. I didn't take any until nighttime of the fireworks and I don't know what was wrong but they were not good at all!!!
Love your new look. And the slide show is awesom!! It was fun to see a few faces I recognize! I can't wait to see you and chickadee at the reunion and everyone else! You two are definitely going to have to give me some blogging pointers! I need to learn how to add some of things you two are using!

You new blog looks wonderful. Before I read you post I thought you had one of those graphic artists do it or something. You did an incredible job, makes me want to change mine again, but I've forgotten everything. I'd have to learn how to do it all over again!

You must have high speed or a newer pc. Slide show was sloooow but nice. I feel like I'm handicapped (as in ridding the short bus) with my internet. As far as the new look, you did a good job however I don't have a uterus so it doesn't do anything for me ;)
OMG!! I am crying after watching your video. It reminds me of when I was little, and we would go to my Grandparents farm in Pennysylvania, and have HUGE family reunions outside just like what your pictures described. I LOVE LOVE LOVE your land....from what I can see it is MAGNIFICENT!
Anyways, thank you for reminding me of such awesome memories that I haven't thought about in a while!
