A Special Treat

Well, it was a special treat for me at least.

I've been waiting and waiting for Big Dan's Senior portraits. It seems like forever. The original school photographer took them back in June the week Little Ann and I were gone to church camp of all times. Now, I know you're thinking with Big Dan starting his Senior year, he should've been able to get ready for a picture by himself, but needless to say I was stressed about him tackling that without me around.

Sure enough he didn't wear what I wanted him to wear and seemed to be having (in my opinion) a bad hair day. Maybe I was too picky. That's what he says. I know. I am a little OCD. I will admit it. They didn't give us very many to choose from and their prices were much too high, so I went with plan B.

I have a friend that does photography on the side and she agreed to take them. They were so much better and her prices beat the schools hands down. I ordered so many and plan on giving some in frames as Christmas gifts to grandparents. Here is a slide show my friend put together of the proofs for me to share with you. I was hoping for a little better quality, but it's ok. Blame it on blogger.

I chose this background song because I absolutely love the words. I am actually using this on Big Dan's Senior ad page in the yearbook. Just in case you've never really listened to them, I have typed them out. They are perfect for what I want to say to my baby graduating and heading out into the real world.

My Wish by Rascal Flatts
I hope the days come easy and the moments pass slow,
And each road leads you where you want to go.
And if you're faced with a choice, and you have to choose,
I hope you choose the one that means the most to you.
And if one door opens to another door closed,
I hope you keep on walkin' till you find the window.
If it's cold outside, show the world the warmth of your smile,
More than anything, more than anything.

Chorus:
My wish for you is that this life becomes all that you want it to.
Your dreams stay big, your worries stay small,
You never need to carry more than you can hold.
And while you're out there getting where you're getting to,
I hope you know somebody loves you, and wants the same things too.
Yeah, this is..........my wish.

I hope you never look back, but you never forget,
All the ones who love you in the place you left.
I hope you always forgive and you never regret,
And you help somebody every chance you get.
Oh, you find God's grace in every mistake,
And you give more than you take.
More than anything, more than anything.

Repeat the chorus.

Good, huh?

I love them!

I love that song too. I have had plans for a long time to do a scrapbook page for each of my kids with the lyrics on it, but still haven't gotten around to it....

Wow, the pictures are great! He's a handsome young man, needlessly said but he is! The song that you picked out is beautiful and does fit this moment in his life perfectly! I was truly touched and misted up a lil bit!

OK, thanks for making me bawl my head off this morning!!! Whew...that was a tear jerker, let me tell ya! I love that song and it's so appropriate for the occasion!

Big Dan's pictures turned out so well...he's a handsome young man...looks a lot like you. I know you're just busting out with pride. I really love the one of the two of you together and the last one of him walking off alone...that really got to me! Oh, the very thought that I'll be going through this in only a year...how will I survive, my friend?

I've given you an award, so hop on over to claim it...you're so deserving!

Happy Friday to ya!
